Setting Your Soul on Fire & Creating a Ripple Effect

Passionate Theme of the Day: Uniqueness

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” ~ Dr. Seuss

I might have mentioned before that I’ve been having fun pulling from my Abraham-Hicks deck of Well Being cards each morning before heading off to teach. I look at them along with the personal affirmation/intention cards that I made, and it helps me to have a “theme” for the day with which to focus my energy and intention.

Today’s card was:

“The vibrations of my Being influence the Universe”. On the back it states, “Everything vibrates and is communicating, reacting, responding, and integrating with other vibrating things. Once you begin to offer your vibrations on purpose – now you are in absolute control of your experience.”

The only thing I’d like to add to the first statement is the word UNIQUE. So it would read, “The vibrations of my UNIQUE Being influence the Universe.” That got me started chewing on thoughts about my own uniqueness and how I can really step into owning that, in order to amp up my vibration in influencing others.

Then I checked my e-mail and there is was this lovely nugget from Ray at Zenchill.com about How to Reach Your Potential. Ray mentions us being “seeds” and if we’re wise like a tomato plant, we won’t go around acting as if we’re an oak tree. That our seed is planted and our only purpose is to nurture the “right conditions” with which to grow.

I’d like to take it one step further and look at our uniqueness factor and really nurturnig our strengths, talents and quirkiness (let’s face it, not everyone likes rockin’ out in the car at stop lights like I do, but I now am granting myself permission to really OWN it!).

Some of those “right conditions” involve:

~Not comparing ourselves to others-
Henri Matisse once said, “It has bothered me all my life that I do not paint like everybody else.” Are you kidding me? If Henri Matisse had issues comparing himself to others, of course we all do. But let’s just take a vow to STOP that silliness and own our UNIQUE colors, shall we?

How great might your life look if you STOPPED comparing it to the Brangelina’s, TomKat’s or even just the Jones’s next store? Take stock in all of YOUR goodness and stop comparing your apples to their oranges. It’s a losing game and you’re NO loser.

~Allowing others to express their uniqueness-
“As we grow as unique persons, we learn to respect the uniqueness of others.” Robert H. Schuller
If we are to fully blossom into our own uniqueness don’t we owe that same right to others? Sure, cats and knitting and wearing Winnie the Pooh sweatshirts might not be my thing, but who am I to judge the person that boldy parades around in their favorite Pooh sweats at the grocery store?

Let’s stop bagging on other people’s preferences and get clear about what it is that we really wanna be dishing out there into the vast and great Universe. Rememeber that saying we learned as kids? “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything?”

I talk a lot less trash about people than I once did. (It was more catty-trash talk than hateful, but you catch my drift). If I do find myself partaking in gossip, I try to check myself, step back and come back to a place of love and positive regard for that person.

If I hear a creepy thought trying to snake it’s way thru my flow, I immediately bless the person or situation in my mind. Not only does that take the heat off the situation, but it sends love back out vs. nastiness. I’m not saying creepy thoughts like, “What they hell were they thinking?” don’t pop in from time to time.

But I try and acknowledge that the other person is a unique and beautiful reflection of the One Source energy, just like me, and that they could just as easily look at my lipstick wearing, accessory obsessive, loud music playing self as a total freak too. Aren’t we all a little bit freaky? Yes. Then we should just accept it and move on to bigger and better pursuits.

~Pursue your passions (Follow Your Bliss)-
“I would much rather have regrets about not doing what people said, than regretting not doing what my heart led me to and wondering what life had been like if I’d just been myself.” Brittany Renée Be YOU. There is NO other like YOU on this planet. You are a unique expression of wild colors and bold beauty. Your preferences and desires are your signposts along your path to purpose. The more you tune into those unique passions, the higher energy vibration you radiate out into the world, the more really-freakin’-cool stuff you attract into your life.

If you’ve not been partaking in something that feels good to you, ask yourself why? What would it take to start pursuing that thing again? Is is a sport, or leisure activity? Is it art? Writing? Wood carving? Skateboarding? Travelling? Creating crazy beautiful watercolors with your kids? Singing karaoke at the corner dive? What makes your spirit sing and your soul soar?

Make a list of those things. Start trying to incorporate 1 new thing into your current mix. Would it take just one hour a month of playing like a little kid at the park in a sandbox to really tap back into your inner child’s wisdom and move you forward with your own creative endeavor?

Could you build an extra 30 minutes into your morning routine to write a page a day of that novel you’ve longed to give birth to? As you start “playing” again, and tapping into those things that your heart aches to do, you’ll step into the FLOW and magical signs and synchronicites will show up and deliver the messages that you are right on track.

People ask, how do I know what my passion is? How do I know what my purpose is? Your purpose is to LIVE passionately. The more you start living, the more fired up your spirit gets, the higher frequency you vibrate at, the more the good stuff shows up.

That can include a new position at your current job, a new job in another city, a hot new somebody in that salsa class you’ve been blowing off for the past year, a new reader to your blog that just so happens to know a book agent (wink wink anyone?), or free tickets to a baseball game.

Sometimes we’re waiting for that BIG event to knock our socks off. The BIG event is already inside of us…each day as you step more into your own authentic power, passions and uniqueness…you are one step closer to a life less ordinary. A life full of passion, purpose and positive self-regard.

Love yourself. Own YOUR gifts. Light it up! If you don’t shine your light and share your goodies, you are hiding it under a basket and holding back your influencial Being. There are people waiting to see you shine, hear your wisdom, watch you grow, get drunk off your joy, celebrate your success. You have the power to reach far and wide with YOUR gifts. The more you step into YOUR greatness, the more you inspire others to do the same…now get out there and set the world on fire!

Celebrate YOU,

You are certainly welcome for the “piggy-back” on your article. It was so in alignment with where my thoughts were yesterday as I was thinking about uniqueness and owning our authenticity.

I love your work, it’s always an inspiration...if I can send over a few new vistors to your place, I’m happy to do so!

Susan~

Too funny lady! I wish you knew a book agent too...I am actually finally working on my book and could use a connect in the publishing world...but I know the right one will come along. Thanks for dropping some comments on some older posts...it’s always fun for me to go back and look at what I was writing “back in the day”.
