Friday Fun & Riding on Dragons!

Passionate Theme of the Day: Flying High

G’day Passionate People! Just gotta say that the blogosphere is one of THE coolest locales to be hangin’ in round the holidays. Full of zest and spirit, everyone is so gracious with sharing holiday sentiments and goodwill. Woke up this morning with some holiday cheer in my in-box from Holly at Holly’s Corner. Check out her fun, family Christmas greetings…love the slideshow Holly!

Then just a little bit ago, my new friend (and wise soul), Dick Richards sent me a kind message (he thinks I’m a dragon rider!) with a link to his most lovely article, Riding on Dragons. Here’s a snippet:

Riding on dragons means making leaps from the known to the unknown, from daily life to the sacred, from the mind that is aware of itself to the unconscious. To ride on dragons is to move effortlessly between seemingly disparate worlds. Those who were best at making such leaps are known today by names such as avatar, sage, mystic, or shaman. But no person needs such lofty titles to ride on dragons.

Have we slain the dragons so that we can roam malls, sit on clogged freeways, go to war, countenance famine, and hate one another without ever taking wing; without ever moving beyond what we have created in order to discover what meaning it holds and how it could be different? Or have the dragons withdrawn, rejected, to some place where they wait, patiently, for us to ride them again?

No wonder this man has published three books and written thousands of articles! Reading this made me misty eyed. I get the same way when I see a beautiful photograph or stunning piece of art. I cry at live music shows (even watching Rock Star) and sometimes even watching dancers (like So You Think You Can Dance & Dancing with the Stars).

This piece touched me beyond just the floetry of the words. It created such a visual for me. I could actually “see” myself sitting on-top of a big, beautiful emerald dragon. With iridescent, shimmering wings.

The really cool thing about visualizing riding dragons? It makes me feel POWERFUL. It makes me feel connected to the universe. I feel FREE. I feel purposeful. I feel beautiful. I feel ALIVE. I feel lit up from the inside out.

I just couldn’t sit on this lovely piece of inspiration. I HAD to share it with everyone that reads the PMP today and for days to come. Thank you Dick Richards for being YOU in this world.

And for the reminder that my reality is more fantstic than any fairy-tale. You are officially the numero uno dragon-riding-on-genius-master-avatar-poet...and your words make me wanna run out and get me a fire breathing dragon right now!

Close your eyes. How does riding on dragons make you feel? Do YOU feel connected to your source? Do you feel ALIVE? Do you feel FREE? Do you feel your power and beauty and intuition? Do you feel larger than life? Good. That’s what living the PMP way feels like. And that’s what I wish for YOU these holidays and everyday.

Ho-ho-ho & mistletoe,
