Passionate Theme of the Day: Cinematic-Poetry
“This may be the most important moment of your life. Commit to it.” ~V from V for Vendetta
“There’s no certainty - only opportunity.” ~ V
“Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici.
[translates] By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.” ~Evey Hammond & VV: “Would you… dance with me?”
Evey Hammond: “Now? On the eve of your revolution?”
V: “A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having!”
Passionate Theme of the Day: Rest
“Rest: the sweet sauce of labor” ~Plutarch
“Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.” ~Ovid“Sometimes the most urgent thing you can possibly do is take a complete rest” ~Ashleigh Brilliant
Here I sit at the keyboard awaiting some magical musings and raucous ramblings to filter through my fingertips for your amusement, inspiration or whatever it is you usually tune in for.
Passionate Theme of the Day: Community
“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.” Anais Nin
On several occasions I’ve shared why I blog. But one of the biggest benefits is a sense of community. Bloggers really know how to welcome you.
It’s kind of like high school again, without all the awkward, weird, hormonal shifts and acne breakouts. Hanging in my community of bloggers is like running with ALLthe cool kids and we ALL gain added value just from cruising in the same circle as one another.
Passionate Theme of the Day: Comfort
My life is open wide
The more you live, the less you will die.
Outside, floating free,
I’m finally open to see…
Could you be any more comfort to me? ~"Comfort“ by Carbon Leaf
It’s no secret to that I’ve been a little, shall we say, stuck lately? A little “cosmically constipated”. My creative juju ain’t been flowing. My minds been cluttered. The weather is making me cagey. Like I want to crawl out of my own skin. It’s been cold and gray. And cold. Did I mention gray?
Passionate Theme of the Day: Birthday V-Day Love
“Climb up over the top.
Survey the state of the soul.
You’ve got to find out for yourself whether or not you’re truly trying.
Why not give it a shot?
Shake it. Take control and inevitably wind up
Find out for yourself all the strengths you have inside of you.” from Song for a Friend by Jason Mraz
Da-na-na-na-na-na…you say it’s your BIRTHDAY! Da-na-na-na-na-na…it’s my birthday too yeah! I do declare that this, the 14th day of February, 2007 marks 1 year and 200 posts for the PMP blog. And it’s freakin’ Valentine’s Day to boot. How awesome is that?
Passionate Theme of the Day: Music Soul Food
“Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be raining, but there’s a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it’s too late” – The Eagles
Not sure about you, but I thought the performances at the Grammy’s last night were freakin’ fabulous! Gnarls Barkley nailed it with his uber cool version of Crazy. John Mayer waxed poetic about the laws of Gravity, Corinne Baily Rae sang like and angel was shining Like a Star, and John Legend cooed Coming Home in his mellow, smoove like butta voice, while his fingers danced across the keyboard, the three of them forming a unique and perfecta trifecta.
Passionate Theme of the Day: Fabulous Finds
“Whatever we think about and thank about, we bring about.” ~Dr. John Demartini, D.C., BSC, The Secret
Hey friends. Just wanted to remind those of you that might not have heard. Oprah is featuring the teachers from the movie The Secret tomorrow Feb. 8. She’s featuring 3 of my favorites - Jack Canfield, James Ray (he’ll be back in STL Mar. 22) and Dr. Rev. Michael Beckwith.
Passionate Theme of the Day: Fast Lane
“Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can”.—Danny Kaye
WOW. Can I just say everything since the holidays has pretty much been a blur? And…I miss you! I know my post pace has slowed down a bit. But I’m making the adjustment to life as “Professor Kammie”. Still sounds weird. Especially since I’m teaching at my alma mater, in the same classrooms where I once sat perched ever so sassily. Just like many of them. Sometimes hung-over. Or tired or bored or curious. Maybe anxious. Inspired. Hopeful. Alive. Occasionally distracted, afraid, amped-up.
So pardon my distance. It’s not you. It’s ME. Life is everything I said I wanted to BE - and then some. (Be careful what requests you make of the Universe. It’s a literal translator. Ask. Get it. Done. Ready or not.) The people I’ve made commitments to outside of the academic walls are being patient, but they want their Kam!
Passionate Theme of the Day: Meaningful Mantras
I recently posted this over at Coach Web. It’s a cool new site that’s not public yet, (sorry!) and I’m part of the testing crew. We’re coaches from all over the planet, with styles as diverse and varied as the colors of the rainbow. It’s kind of a social networking site for coaches, people looking for coaches, personal development info and other cool stuff! Since I can’t link directly to it yet…here it is:
Guy Kawasaki author, speaker, and ex-Apple marketing evangelist, talks about using brand mantras in his Art of Innovation presentation. I had the good fortune to see him present this at the Nov. 2006 ICF conference. I recently re-watched it to see if it might be something I could use in the speech class I’m teaching. (It IS…bonus!)
