I Blog…Therefore, I AM

Passionate Theme of the Day: Spirit of Blogging
My good friend and super cool blogger-mom-NLP coach-entrepreneur, Wendy Piersall, recently wrote a post called, You Don’t Have to be Nelson Madela or Mother Theresa to Change the World - at emomsathome.com. Here’s a snippet:

“An interesting commonality between many of the readers of this blog (in fact, many bloggers in general) is that all of them blog from a place of passion and contribution. It seems as though all of us take our job rather seriously - our blogs, indeed, are really our “mission work”. No matter what your spiritual beliefs are, I know each and every one of you is finding a way to turn your past mistakes into gifts for your own readers. You are writing and adding value. You are giving. You are making a difference. Indeed, you are changing the world.”

Re-boot You - Upgrade Your True Potential

Passionate Theme of the day: Potential

“You have available to you, right now, a powerful supercomputer. This powerful tool has been used through-out history to take people from rags to riches, from poverty and obscurity to success and fame, from unhappiness and frustration to joy and self-fulfillment, and it can do the same for you.” -Brian Tracy

“Your past is not your potential. In any hour you can choose to liberate the future.” -Marilyn Ferguson

“The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.” -Brian Tracy

As this is the first week of classes at the university I teach for, I’ve been thinking a lot about potential. How there is so much potential in what I can communicate and educate and facilitate to the students over the course of the next 15 weeks.

Signs and Synchronicities at Subway

Passionate Theme of the Day: Signs

“Let go of what you “think” you know.  And pay attention to the flow.  Stop trying to force things to go the way you think they should go, and be willing to move in a direction that is different from what you planned on or expected.” Steven Lane Taylor

Found this great little gem today after another little “sync” that happened just this afternoon. Today is my first day to teach a new class at the university. I’m teaching an advertising campaign class. And while I’m really excited about it (I actually think it’ll become my favorite), there is some natural anxiety and adrenaline flowing.

Shacking Up with Family Finds Hidden Flexibility Muscles

Passionate Theme of the day: Flexibility

“New ideas stir from every corner. The show up disguised innocently as interruptions, contradictions and embarrassing dilemmas. Beware of total strangers and friends alike who shower you with comfortable sameness, and remain open to those who make you uneasy, for they are the true messengers of the future.” ~Rob Lebow

This weekend found STL covered in crystallized ice for the 2nd time this season. When I headed to the office on Friday morning the temperature was 60 degrees and when I left to head home, it had dropped to 36. Brrrrr!

James Ray Shares a Little More of The Secret in STL

Passionate Theme of the Day: Enthusiasm

“It’s not what you do. It’s how you do it.” James Arthur Ray

I had the good fortune to attend a FREE seminar and witness the infectious James Ray (from the movie The Secret and featured on Larry King Live ) here in STL last night. If I had to describe James in one word, I would say WOW!

I Got Self-Accepted into 2007!

Passionate Theme of the Day: Radical Self-Acceptance

“I love and accept myself.” Affirmation at ipopin.com

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Kirsten H. of Think Positive blog and ipopin.com. On a recent drive-by I stumbled upon this affirmation listed in her side-bar. It is simply, “I love and accept myself”.

Why did this little mantra strike such a chord today? Last week, the first week of the New Year (cue sounds of party-poppers and wacky paper horns) found me in a bit of a funk. Yes friends, KK hit Funky-town hard!

Make Friends with Mystery & Maximize Your Manifestations

Passionate Theme of the Day: Mystery

“Let mystery have its place in you; do not be always turning up your whole soil with the ploughshare of self-examination, but leave a little fallow corner in your heart ready for any seed the winds may bring...” ~ Henri Frederic Amiel

Ahhh, the mystery of life. As a recovering “perfectionista” and chronic over-achiever, getting this piece of the puzzle has taken a bit of time. But over the past 2 years of serious self-examination and soil turning, I’ve learned to love letting go of the reigns a bit. I’m learning to love the mystery. Loving the unknown element of how things show up, arrive, and manifest in our lives.

What do YOU, Gwen Stefani, Kammie K. and the Year 2007 Have in Common?

Passionate Theme of the Day: Vision

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!
~Kalidasa

Happy New Year passionate friends! My one week hiatus was well worth it. It was a bit challenging at first - not to blog, check my stats, or respond to e-mails in the 24-48 hour fashion I’m used to. But I wouldn’t be walking my talk if I didn’t allow myself some (much needed) downtime.
