PMP 14-Day-Kick-in-the-Booty-Challenge: Week II Check-In

Passionate Theme of the Day: Focus

“When you write down your ideas you automatically focus your full attention on them. Few if any of us can write one thought and think another at the same time. Thus a pencil and paper make excellent concentration tools.” ~Michael Leboeuf

“The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear.” Brain Tracy

Often it seems what I write about here on the blog is exactly what I am dealing with in my own life. Today I’m having trouble focusing. It’s Monday, I’m sleepy (Sat. night rolled into Sunday morning so I’m dragging), and it’s summer! Maybe this is a naturally difficult time to focus. But last week was week one of our 14-day Kick-in-the-Booty Challenge and I’m checking in to see where everyone is with their commitments.

Funny thing happened with mine. As I began to focus on what it might entail to make a potential move, I realized I have a lot of financial “loose ends” to tie up. I need to have a solid action plan for paying off debt, saving, and then investing. I’ve realized that “just make more” isn’t a very diversified or solid growth plan.

My focus has shifted a bit, but had I not committed to the initial challenge, it could have still just been something that was simply “floating around” on my radar. Interesting when we begin filling in any holes or gaps, what we find when we’re filling ourselves back up. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we don’t have to be perfect, we just have to be passionate. And I am passionate about focusing on financial freedom.

Where are things for you? What can you do with this second week to really focus your attention and energy to best support yourself for success? Summer can make it difficult to focus. I’m keep falling into the “its summer let’s play” mentality. When I find myself with free time, I just want to PLAY, again, another reason the 14 day challenge has been good for me.

Just curious about your success with week one and if anyone would like to share what’s working, what’s shifted and what’s more clear now that you’ve given a little more focus and attention to your goal. Feel free to comment here and let us share and celebrate in your success, or gently nudge you into week two to kick it up a notch! While focus can be challenging, it’s key to moving forward. Even when we feel like just chillin’ by the pool (as is the case with me), we can still achieve momentum if we hold ourselves accountable for what we say we want.

I’m cheering you on into week two all the way from STL…you’re half-way there!

Keep on keepin’ on friends,
Kam

Well, I slacked a bit this weekend, but managed to get in 20 minutes (rather than 30) of physical activity each day. This week I’m going to try working out in the morning so that I can’t brush it off later in the day, especially on Saturday and Sunday when the days tend to get away from me. It’ll be tough getting up earlier, but in the end, morning workouts always make me feel better the rest of the day anyway!

Thanks again for the gentle prod to get my butt in gear!

Ami~

Congrats on your success in week one! Tweaking the time for what works for you is awesome...if soemthing isn’t working or doesn’t feel good, change it.

There’s no right or wrong, only what we choose or don’t choose. Way to go lady!
