Maui Mama Livin’ in Passionate Paradise

Ever find yourself fantasizing about livin’ the good life on a lovely island? Sippin’ frosty cool ones with sand between your toes and the shimmer of sunset in your eyes? Back when I was still hunting and pecking my way along my career path, I recall saying a time or two, “Sometimes I just want to pack it up and go sell sunscreen and towels in a tiki hut on the beach”.

Well my delicious new online friend Kuanyin, lives, works and plays in beautiful Maui. On her Who’s Yo Mama blog, she recently shared Maui’s need for more people to work on the island paradise. So if you’ve ever had the desire to pack it up and head to Hawaii, it appears there is no time like the present.

That gets me thinking about career fantasies and how we can turn them into reality. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always said, “I’m a writer. One day I’m gonna get paid to write, and I’m gonna write a book”. And the time has come where I am aligning myself with those dreams.

Where did the shift take place? When I committed to taking ACTION. I’ve talked about action being the key ingredient in making any dream a reality before, but I gotta re-emphasize it again. If you want something. Anything. You’ve got to step up to the plate and swing that bat. Fantasy is fiction. Be brave and bold and take those baby steps toward your goal. Whatever that may be.

How do you do it?

1)Get REALLY clear about what you DO want.
2)STOP talking about and doing what you DONT want.
3)Write it down. Full out and as detailed as possible. Sounds, smells, tastes, feelings, emotions, sensations, colors, how do you FEEL in that new place?
4)Affirm it in the PRESENT. Ex. “I AM joyously celebrating being a published writer”. And so it IS. Just BE it. Don’t question why NOT. Just FEEL that you are it, already, like NOW!
5)Release your attachment to the HOW. Focus on the end result, but not HOW you’ll get there. That’s where the magical universe has a grander plan for you than you can imagine for yourself.
6)Wait. Wait for the signs, messages, people, places and experiences to show up and point you one step closer to where you want to go. Sweet synchronicities will suddenly appear from out of the blue.
7)Get an attitude of GRATITUDE. Say thank you for what you desire BEFORE it actually arrives on your doorstep. Gratitude is the single fastest way to increase momentum and positive flow. Promise. Try it and see.
8)Celebrate its arrival. When the signs, syncs and people start showing up…celebrate! Recognize that you have just co-created your own reality and rejoice!

Ok, gotta scat kids…you know the KK is a busy gal these days!!

Be well and much love,
kk

I loved your list Kam. Great reminders! I would also add to stay open to possibilities even greater than what you are desiring and imagining. I always try to add “this or better” to my list of desires and vision, knowing whatever is for my perfect and complete happiness will unfold.

Ray~

How could I forget “this or something better”?  Jack Canfield taught me that one and I just knew there was something I was forgetting!

He talks about that in The Success Principles & in The Aladdin Factor. I heart Jack Canfield!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your eloquent “zen” vibes Ray.

Much love,
Kam
