Make Friends with Mystery & Maximize Your Manifestations

Passionate Theme of the Day: Mystery

“Let mystery have its place in you; do not be always turning up your whole soil with the ploughshare of self-examination, but leave a little fallow corner in your heart ready for any seed the winds may bring...” ~ Henri Frederic Amiel

Ahhh, the mystery of life. As a recovering “perfectionista” and chronic over-achiever, getting this piece of the puzzle has taken a bit of time. But over the past 2 years of serious self-examination and soil turning, I’ve learned to love letting go of the reigns a bit. I’m learning to love the mystery. Loving the unknown element of how things show up, arrive, and manifest in our lives.

When we become anxious about a goal or desire, what is it that we’re really anxious about? That we won’t achieve it? That we will? Are we anxious that we won’t live up to others expectations? That we won’t live up to our own?

Once we begin to live intentionally, or as Abraham-Hicks says, live with “deliberate intention”, we begin to shift out of needing to know the how and exactly when we’ll “arrive” at desired destination. We can revel in and begin to enjoy that mysterious part of the journey. The part of the game of life that we can’t control.

I find myself looking forward to the little surprises, synchronicities and tiny mysterious miracles that show up, once I’ve set an intention out into the Universe and then LET GO of my attachment to trying to control its manifestation. If you begin to listen and tune-in to the subtle back-beats of life, you’ll find clues and hints along the way.

For example, I was recently having dinner with a friend and telling her about a new product I’d like to create related to words (not letting the cat outta the bag yet!). Just as I wrapped up my explanation of the product, I noticed the song playing in the restaurant was “Wordplay” by my favorite artist, Jason Mraz!! I laughed out.

This happens to me ALL the time. But I do have to stay tuned-in, and focused on my intention. To me, that was a “YES!” or a high-five from the Universe letting me know that I am in sync - or in the flow - with my desire to create this product. Kinda like the Universe telling me it’s got my back and to get a move on.

How can you open up to the mysteries that life has in store for you? What would it take to see the treasure in the mystery? If life is a game, then our move is to set our intention, and the Universe’s move is to gather up the people, places and experiences that will bring our desire into our reality. If you were to read the final page of a book or watch the end of a film first, what fun would that be? It wouldn’t!

Let’s try to ease up on our control panels this year and savor the delicious, mysterious, delicacies the Universe is just waiting to serve us.

How might you dance with mystery more in 2007? How can you set your intention and then let go of controlling the arrival time and itinerary details?

I love this. I recently wrote about establiching goals, and the power of writing things out. I wrote how Jan.`06 I had written out things I wanted to see happen for the year. My letter to God, both character wise, and things in my finances etc. Then I lost the journal. Forgot about those things, and year later, Dec. `06 I found it. Everything I had written down had either come to pass, or huge leaps towards the goal.
The thing is it wasn’t like I controlled the thing or daily went after these things. I just put out there what I wanted to see, and God did it!
Letting go of control is fabulous, it takes the pressure off of you and allows God to shine!
Great Post!
