Angels, Inspiration and Potty Jokes

Woke up this morning and heard the news about the terrorist plot to bomb flights out of London to U.S. Was a little freaked out because my dad was just there a couple of weeks ago and is supposed to be headed there again soon (I’ll have to talk to him about that!).

I don’t watch the news much these days as it can send me into a funk. I’m highly sensitive and can pick up on the negative energy rather quickly (and Kam don’t like nega-mojo). So there I am driving to work pondering where my dad is right now and if he is indeed leaving for London soon, and I look up to see the most amazing sight.

Today finds us on a party-sunny (or partly-cloudy depending on your outlook) day. So the clouds were mixed up just right as the sun was streaming through the clouds, and I swear to you…there was an angel with a wingspan you could build an island in the sky on. The sun rays were streaming out of the bottom and there was a little space right where the heart would be where the sun was peeking out as well. It really did look like those angels that sit atop Christmas trees. A head, wings spread out, and a bell shaped bottom.

Funny how a little inspiration can go a long way. I immediately felt lighter and had the sense that everything was going to be alright. It can be easy to get stuck in a downward spiral when the scary thoughts start to supersede. But that vision above me was like a light switch and it flipped my whole mood around. Suddenly I was full of love and peace and hope.

That sent me on the thought train of “where do we find inspiration”? I find it in all sorts of random places. Margo Kahnrose’s, who blogs at Of Fish and Family, finds a LOT of inspiration from her kids. She wrote the funniest “poop” post about her son flushing before the smell leaked out. I laughed out loud! Potty stories never get old do they?

So dearest darlings – where do you find inspiration? In nature? While walking? Running? Riding your bike? People watching at the park? Playing with your pets? At an art gallery? Listening to music? Reading a good book? Watching an inspired speaker? Take some time today and BE inspired. Really let the feeling of joy spread through you as the power and energy of a moment captures your heart, stimulates your mind and moves your spirit. I saw an angel today. What do you see?

Peace and she talks to angels,
Kam smile

Oh, I love that Black Crowes song (She Talks to Angels).

I tend to avoid the news a lot, too. I definitely catch up online, but I found the tv news is really depressing, and I suspect may put me into a negative funk that I just don’t need in my life. So it’s no surprise that you avoid it, too smile

I am constantly on a search for inspiration. Lately I’ve gotten it from various books. I also find (this is a bit odd) some ‘products’ inspiring. I recently did something rare for me: I went on a makeup buying frenzy. I got many products from benefit (benefitcosmetics.com) and everything from their packaging to the smell of the products inspires me.

I’ve taken to recording my dreams in a journal, too, with the hopes of finding both inspiration and clues to my life in them. I’m on a quest to become a more lucid dreamer; I’ll let you know how it goes!

Finally, RAINY days inspire me. Today we have such a lovely, moody day, and I’m listening to the ‘loft’ station on xm radio. I’m preparing for some great creativity to brew.

Ohh, I LOVE rainy days too (I’ve written some posts about it)...they are perfect for chillin’ to some “lofty” tunessmile

I love finding inspiration in interesting products too. Benefit is the bomb! I also love the Demeter collection of scents...they have scents like Dirt, Grass, Sugar Cookie...one of my fav’s is Gin & Tonic, oddly it smells really fresh and clean. Now they even have Attitude Adjuster scents like...Always Happy, Always Sexy, Always Calm, Always Energetic...too cool!

Thanks for always inspiring.

Thanks for the reminders to stay inspired. Helping others inspires me. Also, others who are inspiring others (like yourself). As we all stay focused on inspiration and everything else that feels good, the Law of Attraction brings us more of whatever we are focused on.

Splendid timing Ms. Kam! I have to say, especially lately, there seems to be more reasons than ever for the “dooms day is nigh” feelings to come out. I live with a dooms-dayer. I just keep saying, “What are you going to do? Live your life in fear....OH! Isn’t that the meaning of terrorism? Or do what you can and enjoy what you have.” Like the angels in the sky letting you know your family is ok.

Inspiration lurks in even the darkest corners. How about instead of saying, ‘Oh my God! They ALMOST blew up all these planes!’ How ‘bout ‘Hey! The terrorists were stopped! Yay good guys!’ Freaking out is the point “they” want to make. Remembering what we have and loving every minute of it is certianly a better resolve.

Love you sweetie! Keep up the good work!

BTW: She Talks To Angels is one of my most FAV! songs ever!! Yay Black Crowes!!

Welcome Ray! Thanks for your input and yes indeed, what we focus on we definitely attract, so we better be clear with our intentions! Love the 30 day project your working on...I’ve seen a lot of those same effects (synchronicities, better customer service, attracting more goodness). Look forward to sharing more soon!

And MS. V~

I LOVE that you love She talks to Angels...apparently it’s a crowd pleaser (Reese loves it too). I hear you, we should be saying, “Good on ya good guys” for catching the terrorists BEFORE the damage was done. That’s why I choose not to live in that reality. Not that I am oblivious to what is going on...I just CHOOSE to focus on peace instead of war. I put my energy towards love not hate. And it’s working out just fine thank you very much!! Thanks for adding your wise words as well…

I love watching my little girl dance around.  That inspires me to want the best in life for her.  I love it when she just dances and twirls around.  There is nothing sweeter than watching her smile.  That smile would inspire anyone.

I too stay away from the news and if I happen to hear too much bad news all I need to do is listen to my 6 yr. old son talk about his day.  That boy has more potty jokes than I thought existed smile
