25 Random Things About Me or I Got Tagged by a Facebook Meme

Passionate Theme of the Day: Powering Thru

"You don’t have to be PERFECT, to create a perfectly luscious life.” Kammie K.
“Be yourself. Anyway that you want to. Just be yourself, anyway that you can.” Morcheeba
“Celebrate the malleable reality.” Jason Mraz

So I got tagged by the Facebook meme and got a bit carried away with this. I took it as an opportunity to use it as a writing exercise since I’ve had a bit of the writers block. I received such positive feedback from posting this on Facebook, I thought I’d go ahead and share it here as well. If you gain an iota of inspiration from even one of these, I’ll feel happy for having put it out here. (If you don’t feel compelled to dive in...no worries!) Buckle up!

1.I am a creative catalyst. Translation – I ignite peace, passion & prosperity into people’s lives, careers & projects. That’s what I’m on this planet to do. I love being an instigator of personal development, planting seeds of inspiration & watching them germinate, and creative brainstorming, white-boarding & mind mapping it out with people.

2.V for Vendetta & Fight Club are two of my favorite movies. Messages don’t have to be “woo-woo” to be deep and spiritual.

3.Music is my religion and my muse. Get me to a live show, and I’m at church - heaven on earth. Singing is prayer right? I pretty much dig all genres. But country makes me cry, so I listen to that the least.

4.I have mad love for Jason Mraz. Not in a “I wanna have his baby” kinda way. His words & music & melodies make my soul smile & my heart skip a beat. He. Completes. Me. Musically. Can you dig?

5.I know no strangers. I absolutely LOVE connecting with “random” people. All my online friends (bloggers, twitter tweeps, FB friends). The guy who flashed me a toothy grin as he crossed my path on his bike today. The homeless guy that called me an angel and told me he loved me in the lobby of my hotel in San Fran. We are one. And I try and see a little bit of me in each of their eyes.

6.My 4 year old niece Alyssa is one of my very best friends and wisest teachers. Words cannot express how much I love this girl. If I could come back as anyone else, I’d come back as her. She rules and I think she knows it.

7.My dog Trixie could very well have been my best friend in a past life. She just gets me. And I love her furry spirit for loving me unconditionally. Now my other dog Chance, aka “Chuck”, aka “Chuckles”, he’s a super freak & I couldn’t love him more. I laugh my ass off when he does downward dog in the sun on Sundays.

8.I rock out in the car on a daily basis. If you’ve ever rolled up on me at a stoplight, you know what I’m talking about. Head bobbin, fingers poppin, booty shakin, full volume. It’s my stage, my house party and my discothèque. I can bounce from Beastie Boys, to T-Payne, to Zeppelin. My booty don’t shake discriminatorily.

9.I eat books for breakfast. Unfortunately, I don’t sit still long enough to finish them all. So there are many ¾ the way through strewn around the place. I have the best of intentions tho. Can’t we upload them into our heads yet?

10.My fav magazines are Fast Company and Inc. I can’t help it, I’m 87.5% geek. I have a crush on technology & the new cowboys of the wild techno-west. I will have my own multimedia business at some point in the future and reading those mags inspire me to keep on charting the course.

11.I heart life coaches. I have been blessed to have worked with amazing coaches that helped me shift my life into high gear. Kristen helped me clear out the clutter. Literally & figuratively. Mary helped me find inner peace & grounding. Naomi is helping me birth the first of many books. And for the gazillion or so others that have written books that have “mysteriously” found their way into my hands, I am forever grateful for those words of wisdom.

12.This is an ad-on to #11. I also heart my coaching friends. Those bloggers, facebook friends and buddies I’ve met in coaching classes, groups & bootcamps. I can’t thank all of you enough for allowing me to share in your own breakthroughs, stumblings and transformations. I’ve learned by witnessing your unfolding as well. WOW. What an honor.

13.I LOVE to laugh and I laugh LOUD and proud. I’m not a dainty laugher. I don’t chuckle or chortle. Don’t be embarrassed if you’re with me. Just laugh with me

14.I have my own vernacular. It’s a funky hybrid of urban-ghetto-fabulous meets southern-belle-buguiose and a lil dash o funk. Not my own language. It’s more like a dialect. I love the licious words. Not necessarily all licious words have to end in “licious” either. They just have to be ripe, juicy, and freshly fierce. Here’s a random sampling: Delicious, luscious, juicy, succulent, fierce, fresh, ripe, wanton, sensual, robust, divine, gorgeous, stunning, scrumptious, delectable, yummy…see? They either make you feel hungry, or thirsty or horny. What else is there? Ohh yeah…sassified!

15.I love green tea and have a serious flirtation with coffee. I’m also having an ongoing affair with red wine. And an occasional quickie with Stella Artois. Tea Mon-Fri, coffee on the weekend. Red wine as I please. Stella when I feel frisky. Hmm..maybe I need to find lovers to work into that same rotation? Why settle for one when I can enjoy the delights of all? Ha!

16.Throughout my career I have been the following: An on-air DJ on the radio, an event marketing manager for major wine & spirits brands, an academic counselor, an instructor at a university, a life & career coach, a blogger and author and as of late, a talent scout for a marketing/communications company. What’s left? I’m thinking published author, radio host, maybe TV or internet show. That sounds about right, and still falls under the umbrella of “creative catalyst” see #1.

17.I didn’t eat green veggies till I was about 25. Now I can’t get enough. I love fresh veggies. Red peppers, onions, broccoli, edemame, beans, spinach and leafy greens. Mmmm.

18.I love design, but have no actual desire to build, paint, or sculpt anything. I am simply in awe of the stuff that others create. I love to witness someone else’s creative genius. Museums, old buildings, architecture, run down urban neighborhoods, art galleries, hidden treasures, jewelry, landscapes, photography, set design, costume design, fashion design. I dig astethics.

19.I love LOVE. Not just romantic love (tho I dig on that too), but the universal concept of “do unto others”. The kind of love that John Lennon & the Beatles wrote about. The kind that brings about peace, prosperity & transformation. If more people stepped up to living love, we’d be sittin’ a lil prettier in our businesses, our relationships and on our planet.

20.I have been to Japan and love eastern culture. But can’t wait to visit Europe as well. I love learning about other cultures and finding those things we share in common even tho their typically disguised as differences.

21.I adore thunderstorms. Growing up in STL was the coolest place to watch ‘em roll in. I love the smell of rain, the drop in temperature, the wind gusts and the THUNDER. If I had a do-over I’d consider earning my keep as a storm chaser.

22.I am a super social butterfly but love me some KK quiet time the older I get. I prefer to shop alone. I gotta hibernate sometimes so I can run high voltage the majority of the time.

23.As a kid I played piano (poorly), soccer (mediocre), softball (great), and basketball (sucky). In high school I was on the dance team (with a booty like this, what do u think?) & dated a football player (a sweetie). I think athletics & sports is a great learning experience for life.

24.I believe in the HP. That’s higher power baby. God. Goddess. Buddha. Spirit. Creator. Jesus. I’m not hung up on titles. I believe what you believe is right for you. I won’t judge your beliefs. But I can’t imagine NOT believing in SOMEthing. I mean hummingbirds, butterflies, babies, puppies and chocolate? Not to mention red wine, rainstorms, trees and the ocean. Hello?? There is a significant power at play here!

25.I believe we’re not alone. Out here. In the universe. It’s just not fathomable that we’re the most brilliant of species. This universe is just too vast and deep and wide and spectacular for us to be it. And I am curious about that connection.

+1 - I have the MOST amazing friends and family. I am so blessed and grateful for the fullness and richness of my life. Positive or negative expereinces alike...it’s ALL good!

I LOVE you and thanks for reading!

Peace & passion,

I did this list too.  Yours is fantastic.  It seems though that since this “25 Things” list came out, there’s been a zillion more on facebook.  Ahhh facebook, to make you feel about 13 again smile
