Passionate Theme of the Day: Law of Attraction in Action
It’s only 9:52. My eyes are so dry from the florescent lights at the convention center, they might pop out of my head! I’m so tired, yet so pumped up, I don’t know that I’ll sleep much tonight. I know I’ve been outta the loop the past couple of days. You see, Wed. I went to see Andrea J. Lee speak to a small group of local small business owners, coaching types, speakers and consultants. She was in a day early for the ICF Conference, which started today.
Here’s why it was cool to meet her in person: 1) I’ve been reading her blog and newsletters and gained considerable amounts of knowledge and insights into why and how I do what I do. 2) It was cool to watch her presentation style, as it is very similar to my own. Down to earth. Conversational. Interactive. 3) Trippier still…she knew who I was! Yep. When I introduced myself, she goes, “I know who you are. You have that red website with the pictures of you and the Zen-like feeling? I’ve read your stuff…you’re hilarious!” Ummm…that’s right people. She said I was hilarious!
Fast forward to today at the ICF conference and I saw her again. We chatted briefly and Pam and I grabbed a bite from the breakfast buffet. Pam slipped away for a second and I was admiring this other woman’s jacket. It looked soft and warm. No sooner had I thought that, than she turned and walked right over to my table and asked if she could hang there and eat. I said sure.
Within minutes of introductions she asked, “How do I know you?” We couldn’t figure out any mutual ties, and then I mentioned writing and blogging and she goes, “That’s it! You’ve got that blog with the red and those fabulous pictures of you! You’re really funny!” I said, “That’s what Andrea said yesterday,” and I pointed to Andrea’s booth, which was behind me. She goes, “You know Andrea? I’m rooming with her this weekend. We’re really good friends.” Turns out I was talking to Elyse Hope Killoran, president of Prosperity From the Inside Out. Crazy thing - I had actually listened to a teleclass that Elyse and Andrea had hosted on prosperity about 6 months ago.
Can you even imagine my sense of surreal-ness as I stood there talking to one woman about another women and they were both coaching models of where I wanted to be? Oh, I forgot to mention that when I was at Andrea’s seminar yesterday, I met another phenomenal coach, Lynn Klippel. Lynn also happens to run the publishing company that prints Andrea’s books…Bonus for me cuz I want to publish books. And Lynn has now become a Kam-bassador. As I buzzed thru the convention center today, several people mentioned that Lynn had already mentioned me to them. How cool is that?
The really funny part was in the 3rd and final breakout session of the day. An attractive young fellow, with a charming Australian accent, sat down next to me. As we were introducing ourselves, he asked, “What did you say your name was again?” And I said, “Kammie.” He goes, “Someone in my last session just told me I needed to meet you.” I was like, “Seriously?” He reached in his pocket and handed me a card and said, “This women told me I should talk to you about blogging and marketing and that we’re working with the same target market” It was Lynn’s card!! How funny was that?
Then at the end of the day I went back down to the exhibitor hall and as Pam and I were heading out, we found ourselves walking out and chatting again with Andrea and Elyse. I just had to stop and take in the crazy surreal-ness of the moment. Here I was, at the International Coaching Federation Conference and walking and talking (like we’re old friends) with 2 coaches who’s work I had admired and that had inspired me to keep on reaching for bigger and bolder ways of expressing myself and my coaching business.
So I did just that. I know. I’m a total geek. But I just had to witness the moment. It was like a scene out of a movie. So I stopped and said, “Umm, can we just stop here for a sec? I’m having a really surreal moment here.” And they just looked at me and said, “That’s the Law of Attraction in action girl!” I thanked them for being who they were in this world and for being REAL!! Even though the whole scene felt oddly out of body!!
Why am I sharing all of this with you? So that you can see how when you set an intention, focus on what you want (and STOP focusing on what you DON’T want), release attachment of the “how” it will show up, and surrender to the Universe/God/spirit…it works. I had some seriously surreal moments today.
Mostly because I am “there”. I have arrived at one of those mile markers that I’ve had in my minds eye. If it felt this good meeting some of my “idol” coaches…what’s it gonna feel like meeting Oprah? After witnessing my arrival at today, just a little over a year after I began my coach training and 9 months after I launched my website, I am more sure than ever, that if I maintain my vision of being on O’s couch sharing the word about my book, that too shall line up and just be another “moment” of arrival.
So what are you willing to do to get really clear about what you want? When is it time to step up to the plate and take those first action steps? How long are you willing to stand still? Be bold. Be brave. You are bigger, brighter, more amazingly gifted than you can even imagine.
What you want, also wants you. The Universe WILL line up the people, places and things, to make your dreams a reality. All you have to do is get really clear. Ask for it. Put it out there. And wait. One day, you’ll arrive “there” and it’ll feel like you just stepped into a movie…only to find out, it’s your life!
I challenge you to step up bigger than you’ve ever done before. What have you got to lose? I promise you, you’ve got everything you already need…it’s inside of you. It IS you.
Attraction factor alive and well in the STL,
Kammie Kam
