There’s an Ostrich on My Ceiling

Passionate Theme of the Day: Shadow Dancing

“I looked and looked and this I came to see
That what I thought
Was you and you
Was really me and me.” ~Unknown

“This thing of darkness I acknowlege mine. There is nothing more confining than the prison we don’t know we are in.”
William Shakespeare

“The most common form of despair is not being who you are.”
Kirkegaard

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
Before you take the splinter out of your brothers eye, take the log out of your own.”~ Jesus

Last night while lying in bed, I looked up to discover an ostrich on my ceiling. I keep a little night light in the corner next to my Chihuahua Chance’s bed. (He gets cranky if he can’t see his pillow in the middle of the night.) Right next to the light sits a wrought iron and rattan chair.

Why IS Scott Baio 45 and Still Single?

Passionate Theme of the Day: Unfinished Business

“Holding on to anger is like holding on to a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”~Buddha

“Clinging to the past is the problem. Embracing change is the answer.”~Gloria Steinem

“We must welcome the future, remembering that soon it will be the past; and we must respect the past, knowing that once it was all that was humanly possible.”~George Santayana

Did anyone see the VH1 debut show, Scott Baio is 45 and Single that aired Sunday night? As a kid growing up in the 70’s and 80’s of course I watched Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi and Charles in Charge. What hot-blooded American girl didn’t have a crush on Scott Baio? Jeez!

Im-perfect Really Spells I'm Perfect

Passionate Theme of the Day: Im-perfect

“Perfectionism is slow death.” ~ Hugh Prather

“Perfectionism is a dangerous state of mind in an imperfect world.” ~Robert Hillyer

“It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being passionate.” Kammie K.

Here’s a topic close to my heart and one you’re going to see much more about on the PMP blog. The topic is perfectionism. To say I’ve suffered from this nasty little bugger is putting it mildly! I’ve referred to myself as a “Recovering Perfectionista”, and like any person in recovery, from time to time I stumble and fall. But I continue to get up, dust my booty off and keep on keepin’ on.

Little Sparrow Sings Songs of No Regrets

Passionate Theme of the Day: Voice

"No, nothing.
No, I regret nothing.
Neither the good done to me, nor the bad;
to me, they’re all the same.” ~Edith Piaf

Last week I went to see the film La Vie En Rose, the story of French singer Edith Piaf also known as, Little Sparrow. It took all I had not to cry like a baby at the end. Talk about tragic! I’m not sure if everything that happened in the film was truth or fiction, but it was one tragedy after another for this woman with the voice of an angel.

Happy Fourth of July - Your Interdependence Day

Passionate Theme of the Day: Interdependence

“July marks the celebration of Independence Day. Many these days are calling for a higher evolution beyond independence into a full recognition of our interdependence.

Independence keeps us thinking of ourselves as separate and isolated rather than deeply intertwined, as ecological and scientific work is increasingly revealing.” ~ Stephen Dinan in the July issue of iShift e-zine for Institute of Noetic Sciences

Happy almost 4th of July! As I read the above quote in the latest issue of iShift e-zine, I was struck by the idea of interdependence.
